NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern’s Ricky Louis and South Carolina’s Mika Habel named Sun Belt men’s soccer players of the week.
Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Ricky Louis, Georgia Southern

Louis scored a brace against No. 4 Marshall to lead No. 19 Georgia Southern to a 2-1 victory. It would be the program's first win over a top five team and first ranked win in twelve seasons. It was Louis' second brace of the season, as he is tied for first in the country with his now four game-winning goals. Louis is tied for second in the league in goals with six so far this season which is also a career high for the sophomore.
Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Mika Habel, South Carolina
(Jr. | M | Regensburg, Germany)
Habel anchored the Gamecocks back line across 163 minutes of action in two consecutive shutout victories. His defensive presence was vital in keeping clean sheets in both 1-0 results. Mika also contributed on the attacking end, scoring the game-winning goal in South Carolina’s win over James Madison, securing the 3 points on the road in a Sun Belt Conference match.
