NEW ORLEANS - Two of the leagues top teams face off in the midweek as Marshall hosts Old Dominon, highlighing a six game midweek slate.
GAME OF THE WEEK
The Sun Belt women’s basketball game of the week features Marshall (13-3, 4-0) hosting Old Dominion (10-5, 2-1) on Wednesday night. The Herd are one of the leagues 4-0 teams and sit tied at the top of the standings and host a one loss Old Dominion that looks to separate itself from five other teams that have one loss in league play. The two teams last met in March of last year, with Marshall pulling out a 73-70 overtime victory at home. Marshall holds a slight edge over Old Dominion with a 72.9 points per game average compared to Old Dominion’s 68.6. Marshall is led by one of the league’s best scorers, Timaya Lewis-Eutsey who is second in the league in scoring (16.2 ppg) and field goal percentage (.508). Old Dominion hold an edge defensively as they are second in league in rebounding (44.1 rpg) and first in the league in blocks (6.20).
KEEPING THE STREAK ALIVE
Arkansas State (13-3, 4-0) are on a 11-game win streak, dating back to Nov. 23. This matches their longest win streak from last season when they won 11 consecutive games from Jan. 2 to Feb. 5. They are currently third in the league in total offense (78.2 ppg) and are tied with Troy at the top of the league with a 15.0 scoring margin in league play. Starters Crislyn Rose and Zyion Shannon are averaging double digit scoring figures while Wynter Rogers leads the team in rebounds with a 7.0 per game average.
THE LEAGUE LEADERS
Troy (11-3, 2-1) leads the league in both scoring offense (85.6) and rebounds (49.3). Their 85.6 point per game average ranks 15

rd, behind just No. 5 Oklahoma and No. 12 LSU. Four of the Trojan’s starters are averaging double digit scoring figures in Fortuna Ngnawo (15.3), Emani Jenkins (13.8), Zay Dyer (12.5) and Ashley Baez (10.0). Dyer is also averaging 11.9 rebounds per game which ranks fifth nationally and makes her the only player in the league and one of six players nationally averaging a double-double.
PARTY IN PENSACOLA
The 2026 Visit Pensacola Sun Belt Women’s Basketball Championship presented by Air Force Reserve will be held March 3-9, 2026 at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla., The championship game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 on Monday, March 9. The 2026 tournament will mark the sixth consecutive season the Sun Belt hosts the event in Pensacola, which will remain at the venue through the 2029-30 campaign. A different program has been crowned champion in each of the first five years in Pensacola: Arkansas State (2025), Marshall (2024), James Madison (2023), UTA (2022) and Troy (2021).
