NEW ORLEANS – James Madison’s Ashanti Barnes had back-to-back double-double performances over the last week, earning Sun Belt women's basketball player of the week.

Barnes averaged 24.0 points and 15.0 rebounds per game in the final week of the regular season, leading James Madison to its ninth consecutive win.
The graduate student started the week with a 19-point, 14-rebound performance against Old Dominion, adding on three assists, three steals, and a block in the 77-55 victory. The forward then had a dominant performance versus Coastal Carolina, posting a career best 29 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Barnes is one of seven Division I players this season to record 29 points and 16 rebounds this season, and the only one to do so with five assists.
