Southern Miss’ Fullerton & ULM’s Roach Earn Sun Belt Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Southern Miss’ Javel Fullerton and ULM’s Stafon Roach have earned recognition as the Sun Belt Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their performances over the last week. 

Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Javel Fullerton, Southern Miss
(Sr. | Sprints | Kingston, Jamaica) 

Southern Miss senior sprinter Javel Fullerton recorded a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 50.93 at the Crimson Tide Invitational. In the 4x400 meter-relay, Fullerton, aided to earn a fourth place finish with a time of 3:11.56. His time in the 400m currently leads the league and is tied for 30th nationally and ranks 17th in the NCAA East Division.

Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Stafon Roach, ULM
(Jr. | Jumps | Georgetown, Guyana)

ULM junior Stafon Roach recorded a league-leading mark of 15.82m/41-11 in the triple jump to earn first place at the Texas A&M 44 Farms Team Invitational. His season-opening result ranks second in the South Central Region, second in the NCAA East division and eighth in the NCAA.
