NEW ORLEANS – Texas State’s Ja’Shaun Lloyd & Southern Miss’ Tyler Nichols have earned recognition as the Sun Belt Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their performances over the last week.
Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Ja’Shaun Lloyd, Texas State

Texas State freshman Ja’Shaun Lloyd continued his standout season with another elite performance in the 110-meter hurdles at the Mt. SAC Relays, placing second in the elite section with a personal best and conference leading time of 13.42 seconds. His time ranks third all-time in Texas State program history and currently sits fourth in the South Central Region, trailing only three SEC athletes. Lloyd’s mark is tied for seventh in the NCAA this season and stands as the fourth fastest time ever recorded by a freshman in NCAA history.

Southern Miss junior jumper Tyler Nichols finished atop the podium in the long jump with a mark of 8.10m/26-7 at the Georgia Tech Invitational over the weekend. The mark leads the Sun Belt and is ranked third nationally.
