NEW ORLEANS – Marshall sophomore utility Tia Titi and Texas State junior left-handed pitcher Maddy Azua earned the Sun Belt Conference’s weekly softball awards after leading their teams to series victories during the season’s fourth week of league competition.
Titi is the Thundering Herd’s first player to be named Sun Belt Player of the Week this season and first since Rielly Lucas in 2025, while Azua earns her league-leading third Pitcher of the Week accolade this season and the sixth of her career for the Bobcats.
Player of the Week
Tia Titi, Marshall

Titi batted 6-for-11 (.545) and slugged 1.636 while homering in all three games while adding six RBIs and leading Marshall to a three-game sweep over App State. Titi registered three multi-hit performances, as five of her six hits went for extra bases. She doubled and homered in the 3-1 win over the Mountaineers in the series opener, before homering and tripling with two RBI in the 12-4, game two victory. Titi closed the weekend with a three-run shot in the Herd’s 10-6 triumph in the series finale.
Pitcher of the Week
Maddy Azua, Texas State
[Jr. | LHP | Round Rock, Texas]
Azua compiled a 3-0 record and a 1.47 ERA with two complete games in 19 innings of work while guiding the Bobcats to a trio of road wins and a conference series victory at South Alabama. She allowed just four runs and struck out 19 while holding opposing hitters to just four extra-base hits and a .211 batting average. The junior lefty twirled five innings of one-run ball with five punchouts in an 8-1 win at UTSA on March 31 to start the week before allowing just four hits, three walks and one unearned run with eight strikeouts in a 5-1, series-opening win over the Jaguars on April 2. Azua led Texas State in the deciding game of the weekend series with another complete-game effort while surrendering six hits and three runs with no walks and six strikeouts in the 6-3 triumph on April 4.
