Troy’s Whyte & Arkansas State’s Pujol Earn Sun Belt Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Troy’s Rachel Whyte and Arkansas State’s Carly Pujol have earned recognition as the Sun Belt Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their performances over the last week.

Rachel Whyte, Troy

Troy sophomore sprinter Rachel Whyte had a breakthrough performance in the 400m at the Music City Challenge on Saturday. She clocked in at 53.61 which is a personal best and currently third on the Sun Belt women's 400m list. The time also moved her to second in the program’s history.

Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Carly Pujol, Arkansas State

Senior Arkansas State track and field pole vaulter Carly Pujol claimed her fifth event win of the 2026 outdoor season on May 1 at the Maroon and White Tune Up. The Cape Girardeau, Missouri, native reached a height of 4.11m/13-5.75 and bested 14 contestants with the highest mark by a Sun Belt women's pole vaulter during the week of April 26-May 2. Pujol is one of five pole vaulters in the conference to clear 4.00m/13-1.50 this outdoor season and has done so in all six appearances.
