Bobcats Celebrate Senior Day In With 3-1 Victory Over Georgia Southern
SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team celebrated Senior Day on a high note as the Bobcats concluded conference play with a 3-1 victory over Georgia Southern Sunday afternoon. Texas State finishes the regular season with a 12-5 overall mark and 6-3 record in the Sun Belt Conference.

In just the first minute and a half of the contest, senior Lynsey Curry put the Bobcats up with her 10th goal of the season. Curry received a pass from the right side from Brooke Ramsey and stuffed it in the back right corner of the net for the early 1-0 lead.

It wasn't until the second half of play when the match started to get interesting. In the 62nd minute, Georgia Southern connected on a defensive miscue by the Bobcats to equalize the match at one. Just 10 minutes later, Lauren Prater scored her fifth game-winning goal of the season after a cross by Kassi Hormuth. Prater now has a team-high 12 goals on the season.

The Bobcats struck again five minutes later after a corner kick by Brooke Ramsey. Ramsey served in the ball from the right corner and it deflected off of Maddie Nichols for a one touch to Clarissa Leon for what proved to be her second goal of the season.

Texas State finished the match with 10 shots while allowing just six by the Eagles. Senior Caitlynn Rinehart finished the day with two saves and the Bobcats recorded six corners on the day.

With the Appalachian State loss to Georgia State earlier in the afternoon, Texas State has secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming conference tournament. A complete bracket will not be released until Wednesday afternoon as the UL Monroe and UL Lafayette match has been delayed due to excessive rain.

Troy Soccer Draws with Little Rock on Senior Day, Clinches Second in Sun Belt
TROY, Alabama – The Troy soccer team wrapped up the regular season on Sunday afternoon at the Troy Soccer Complex with a 0-0 tie against Little Rock, but managed to clinch the second place seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

The 2015 seniors, the winningest class in Troy soccer history, were honored before kickoff.

Troy (13-4-1, 6-2-1 Sun Belt) maintained possession throughout the game and fired 19 shots, but only five landed on goal.

"I thought our girls played well in certain areas," Jason Hamilton said. "There were some places we could've done better. When you have 19 shots you have to be a little bit more opportunistic around the goal."

The Trojans were called offside three times during the match, but none bigger than one in the 30th minute that wiped away a Chelsey Williams score that would've given the Trojans a 1-0 advantage.

Troy took three shots in the first overtime and four shots in the second overtime. However, only two of them were on goal.

Mikki Lewis (11-4-1) recorded her eighth shutout of the season and recorded four saves. The Trojan defense only allowed five shots for the duration of the match.

The Little Rock (8-6-5, 3-2-4 Sun Belt) goalkeeper, Sara Small, had five saves in the match and recorded her sixth shutout of the season.

Of the 19 shots the Trojans took, 12 of them came from the seniors. Alissa Jones led all players with six, followed by Jasmine Fahrnbauer with three and Williams, who took two. Kirsten Rendall also took a shot off a free kick in the 67th minute that went high.

Troy will return to the pitch in Atlanta as the number two seed to face the seventh seed in the Sun Belt Tournament, which will begin November 4th.

Little Rock Earns Best-Ever League Finish With Tie at Troy
TROY, Ala. – The Little Rock soccer team continued a season-long trend on Sunday, going to overtime for a program-record eighth time and finishing with a school-record fifth tie of the season.

Little Rock (8-6-5, 3-2-4 Sun Belt Conference) ended its regular season with a 0-0 draw at second-place Troy, and in the process achieved the best-ever conference finish for the Little Rock program.

The Little Rock tie combined with a win by Georgia State and a loss by Georgia Southern earlier Sunday means Little Rock will be the No. 5 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament starting on Nov. 4 in Atlanta. Little Rock ended the season with 13 points in league play, tying Georgia State in the standings. But a regular-season victory over the Panthers means Little Rock takes the No. 5 seed while Georgia State is relegated to the No. 6 seed.

The Trojans will play No. 4 seed Appalachian State on Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. with a berth in the conference tournament semifinals on the line. When Appalachian State and Little Rock played during the regular season, the teams fought to a 1-1 draw in Boone, N.C.

Before 2015, Little Rock's highest-ever seed in the Sun Belt Tournament was the No. 6 seed all the way back in 2003. The Trojans earned the No. 8 seed each of the two previous years.

Sunday's result against Troy was the first point Little Rock had picked up in the series since 2008. Troy had won the last six meetings during that span.

Early on, it looked as though Troy had posted a goal to earn a 1-0 lead. But the goal was called back due to a Troy player being in an offside position, and neither team would get that close to scoring again.

Little Rock keeper Sara Small earned her program-record sixth shutout of the season, making five saves and getting in the way of Troy crosses and passes all afternoon. She made two saves in the second overtime period to keep her sheet clean.

Troy's Brooke McKee took a red card in the 100th minute right at the end of the first overtime, but Little Rock was unable to capitalize on the man advantage over the final 10 minutes and went without a shot in that span.

Troy ended the game leading 19-5 in shots and 5-1 in corner kicks, but the teams tied at 0-0 where it counted.

Besides Small, six Little Rock players saw the entire 110 minutes of action: Quin Wilkes, Mikayla Uyokpeyi, Logan Strange, Claire Palmer, Hali Long and Jaclyn Purvine.

The Trojans will now have more than a week off to prepare for the Sun Belt Tournament Quarterfinal. That game will take place on Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. against No. 4 seed Appalachian State.

Nagy, Fox Help Earn Panthers Final Regular Season Win
BOONE, N.C.- Georgia State closed out the 2015 regular season with an impressive 1-0 win over Appalachian State on Sunday afternoon.

Senior Ashley Nagy scored the game-winning goal for the Panthers in the first minute of the match. Nagy finished the regular season with six goals and leads the team with three game-winning goals.

After the goal the team focused on defensive strategy holding Appalachian State to just six shots in the game. Nagy continued to lead the team in shots per game, with three. Senior Jenna Moore posted two shots and junior Alexis Thomas had one. All of the Panthers’ shots were on goal.

Senior Christa Fox also had an impressive game, recording five saves. The Mountaineers outshot the Panthers 11-6, but Fox’s five saves kept Appalachian State out of the net. Fox now has 55 saves and five shutouts this season.

"That's the way we wanted to end the regular season. This win was huge for us leading into the conference tournament," head coach Derek Leader said.

Georgia State finished the regular season with 13 points in conference, and will await the rescheduled UL Monroe/UL Lafayette match before knowing the seeding for the conference tournament.

The Panthers will host the tournament in Panthersville Nov. 4-8.
