Appalachian State 94, Wofford 70
Boone, N.C. - The offense was in full force on Monday evening, as Appalachian State University women's basketball (6-4) dealt Wofford (6-6) a convincing 94-70 defeat at the Holmes Center.
Appalachian improves to 5-0 at home, finishing undefeated at home in non-conference action for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign. In the Mountaineers' previous three victories in Boone, they have defeated their opponents by an average of 20 points.
Also, the 6-4 mark with one non-conference game left gives the Black and Gold its best non-conference record in the Angel Elderkin era, while it's the best 10-game start since the same 2012-13 season when the Black and Gold began the year 7-3.
Little Rock 63, Tulsa 53
TULSA – Led by 35 points from the Little Rock bench and a +19 rebound margin, the Trojans come out victorious 63-53 over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane Monday night.
Ron DeGray collected a game-high 19 points and Terrion Moore collected a career-high 12 rebounds. Every Little Rock player found pay dirt this evening, a first this season, and three Trojans, DeGray, Kyra Collier and Tori Lasker all collecting double-figure totals. Little Rock's 44 rebounds, a season-high, came by way of 28 on the defensive end and 16 on the offensive glass, creating 15 second chance points and out rebounding the Golden Hurricane by a margin of 13 in offensive rebounds.
South Alabama 97, Faulkner 40
MOBILE, Ala. - The University of South Alabama women's basketball team improved to 9-0 on the season with a 97-40 win over the Faulkner Eagles on Monday night at the Mitchell Center.
With 11 players recording a point and five scoring in double-digits, it's safe to say the Jaguars 97-point night was a total team effort. Jala Buster and Alexis Sykes recorded new career-highs in points, Devyn Lowe recorded the first points of her career, the bench accounted for 45 points, and the field contributed for a season-high 22 assists.
UTA 65, Houston 61
HOUSTON – Cierra Johnson put UT Arlington on her back down the stretch to propel the Lady Mavericks to a 65-61 overtime thriller over Houston on Monday night at the Feritta Center.
The Lady Mavericks, closing their five-game road trip with a 4-1 record, erased a four-point deficit with two minutes left in regulation, and saw Johnson push UTA in the overtime period to send the winning streak to four games and a 6-2 overall record. UTA ended a drought against its in-state rival, taking its first matchup with the Cougars after dropping the previous 10 matchups, including a heartbreaker at College Park Center in 2017. The matchup was just the second for the Lady Cougars (4-7) in the newly renovated arena.
