DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Sun Belt Conference Women’s Golf Championship heads to Daytona Beach, Fla. and the LPGA International, Hills Course for the first time.
Competition for the 2019 title on the 6,100-yard, 54-hole tournament begins on Monday, April 15, and continues through Wednesday, April 17. Teams will tee off on split tees Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. ET with six teams starting on the No. 1 hole and five teams going off on the No. 10 tee.
Coastal Carolina is the reigning women's team champion as they took the 2018 title at the Raven in Sandestin with a team total 872 (+20). The Chanticleers enter the 2019 Championship ranked first in the Sun Belt. Texas State, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, owns the top scoring average in the league at 297.07. The Chants are just behind at 297.27.
Troy, which claimed the 2014 and 2015 titles, ranks third in the league with a 299.42 average. Both Coastal and Texas State are ranked in the top 100 this season.
Texas State’s Anne-Charlotte Mora, a senior from Nantes, France, leads the Sun Belt individually with a 73.26 scoring average over 27 rounds. She has competed in nine tournaments this season with one win and a low round of 68. Mora finished tied for 26th at the Sun Belt Championship last season.
Coastal Carolina’s Marie Lunackova ranks second in the league with a 73.88 scoring average. She has competed in 26 rounds this season. The senior is tied for fifth at last year’s event.
Georgia Southern’s Ansley Bowman is the highest returning finisher from last year as the senior finished third. Ten of the top 14 finishers from last season return in 2019.
All three rounds of the 54-hole championship will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
