NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern’s Margaux Brejo secured her first collegiate title at the Route 66 Invitational with a 210-stroke, 6-under par final card to secure her first Sun Belt Women’s Golfer of the Week honor.
 
Brejo, a native of Fontainebleau, France, helped the Eagles to their first team title since 2024-25 and led a group of four top 10 finishes for Georgia Southern golfers. Brejo opened the tournament with a one-over par 73 with three birdies against two bogeys and a double bogey. She came back in round two at the Golf Club of Oklahoma and carded a 3-under 69 to move up to third in the individual standings.
 
Ahead of the final round, Brejo and Georgia Southern both stood outside the top spot but Brejo used a 4-under 68 to chase down the host Tulsa and the Hurricane’s leader, who entered the day with an eight-shot team lead and with Brejo trailing by one stroke. Brejo won the title by three strokes by the day’s end, buoyed by her 12 total birdies, tying her first among the field.
 
Brejo also ranked second on Par 3s, finishing 3-under (2.75), and Par 4s, finishing 4-under (3.90). She also bogeyed on just five holes, the lowest total in the field. Her 6-under three-round score marked a new career high for Brejo as well.
 
Brejo earned Third Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors last season as a true freshman after finishing even at the Sun Belt Championship. She now owns a season stroke average of 72.33 and a career average at Georgia Southern of 74.12.
