Coastal's Sigurvinsdottir, Georgia State's Clarke Named Women's Soccer Players of the Week

OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sunny Sigurvinsdottir, Coastal Carolina (So., MF, Selfoss, Iceland)
The junior from Iceland opened the scoring in the 3-1 victory against Jacksonville getting the Chanticleers on the board in the first 38 seconds of the match. Sunny tallied a second goal in the first half to give CCU a 2-0 lead in the 19th minute. In the second game of the weekend, Sunny scored the third goal of the game to give Coastal a little bit of breathing room. The Chants picked up two victories in a row to get the win column.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kendra Clarke, Georgia State (RS-So., GK, Silver Spring, Md.)
Clarke allowed just one goal and picked up nine total saves during the week to keep Georgia State unbeaten in its last four matches. She allowed just one goal and gathered three saves in Friday?s 2-1 victory over Chattanooga then delivered a career-performance in Sunday's 0-0 draw at UAB, earning a career-high six saves and her second shutout of the year. Clarke leads all goalkeepers in the Sun Belt with in goals against average (0.47) and save percentage (.882).
