Sun Belt Announces Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Feb. 1)

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced its Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

Alexus Dye, Troy

Dye helped Troy (11-4, 7-1 SBC) extend its winning streak to seven on Saturday, pulling down a career-high 20 rebounds against App State. The senior recorded her nation-leading 12th double-double of the season behind 14 points to go along with her 20 boards, the most in the Sun Belt Conference this season. She averaged 12 points and 15.5 rebounds in Troy’s two wins on the road. The senior forward shot 40 percent from the field for the weekend and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Dye also added two steals and a block.

This season, the 12 Sun Belt women's basketball programs is split into an East Division and a West Division to minimize travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Teams will play each other on back to back days (Fridays and Saturdays) at the same location.

All 12 teams will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championship which will be held March 5-8, 2021 in Pensacola, FL.
