NEW ORLEANS – James Madison’s Peyton McDaniel leads the Dukes to their third straight victory, earning Sun Belt women’s basketball player of the week.

McDaniel averaged 23.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game at the Daytona Beach Classic while leading the Dukes to victories over two autonomy four schools in Boston College and Wisconsin. McDaniel led all scorers with 19 points shooting .727 from the field and had seven rebounds against the Eagles. Against the Badgers she scored 28 points in the win which moved her up to fifth on James Madison’s all-time scoring list.
McDaniel leads the Sun Belt in scoring averaging 20.4 points per game, which ranks 22
nd in the nation.
