NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern’s Destiny Garrett led the Eagles to a fifth consecutive victory, earning Sun Belt women’s basketball player of the week.

Garrett helped the Eagles stretch their win streak to five while averaging 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game over the last week. She began the week by connecting for 24 points, while adding four rebounds and a season-high four steals in the Eagles' 70-44 win over North Florida. The graduate student then had 17 points and grabbed six rebounds in Sunday's 72-56 win over Furman. The point guard shot 57.7% from the floor and she leads Eagles in scoring and assists on the year.
