Sun Belt Women's Golf Championship to Commence Sunday at LPGA International

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL 

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 11 Sun Belt women’s golf programs will descend on the LPGA International Hills Course in Daytona Beach, Fla., for the 2021 Sun Belt Women’s Golf Championship from Sunday, April 18, to Tuesday, April 20. 
 
The 54-hole tournament at the par-72, 6,193-yard course commences on Sunday, April 18—732 days after the final round of the last Sun Belt Women’s Golf Championship, also held at LPGA International. The teams will tee off from split tees, beginning at 8:00 a.m. ET, with six teams teeing off on No. 1 and five teams starting at No. 10.  
 
South Alabama is the event’s reigning champion, having won the 2019 Sun Belt Women’s Golf Championship with a 54-hole score of +13 (877), three strokes ahead of runner-up Texas State (+16, 880). 
 
The Jaguars (295.54) and Bobcats (295.83) also carry the top two team scoring averages in the conference into this year’s championship event. 
 
Individually, South Alabama junior Julie Hovland paces all Sun Belt golfers with a 71.96 scoring average. The Bergen, Norway, native was the individual medalist at the USA Intercollegiate and the Lady Red Wolves Classic this season and finished tied for 14th at the 2019 Sun Belt Women’s Golf Championship. 
 
Fellow Jaguar junior Siti Shaari—the 2019 Sun Belt individual runner-up—ranks second in the conference with a 73.08 scoring average. 2019 Sun Belt individual medalist, Georgia Southern fifth-year Ella Ofstedahl, also returns to the championship field. 

Troy paces all current Sun Belt women’s golf programs with three all-time team championships, while Little Rock (2), South Alabama (2), Arkansas State (1), Coastal Carolina (1) and Texas State (1) also claim Sun Belt titles. 
 
All three rounds of the 54-hole championship will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and live scored via Golfstat.
