App State’s Donohue & South Alabama’s Degli-Umberti Garner Sun Belt Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week Honors

NEW ORLEANS – App State’s Jasmine Donohue and South Alabama’s Bodine Degli-Umberti each charted impressive personal bests in their respective events this past week and have been selected as Sun Belt Conference Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week.  

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Jasmine Donohue, App State
(Jr., Distance, Charlotte, N.C.)

Mountaineers’ junior Jasmine Donohue clocked a personal best of 17:12.76 in the women’s 5,000 meters at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. on April 8. Donohue finished second in the second section and 16th in the race overall. In the Sun Belt Conference, the Charlotte, N.C., native checks in at No. 2 in the women’s 5,000 meters and No. 6 in the women’s 1,500 meters. 

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Bodine Degli-Umberti, South Alabama 
(So., Throws, South Africa)

Jaguars’ sophomore Bodine Degli-Umberti won the discus while breaking the South Alabama program record with a 52.69m/172-10 mark at the Triton Invitational in San Diego. Her mark ranks second in the conference and 33rd in the nation.
