NEW ORLEANS – James Madison’s Laura Webb and App State’s Jada Branch each had personal-best showings over the weekend to earn Sun Belt Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Weekly honors.
Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Laura Webb, James Madison

Dukes’ senior distance runner Laura Webb recorded the fastest 5000-meter time of any Sun Belt competitor this past weekend, finishing in a personal-best time of 16:42.92 at the Penn Relays. The time is good for seventh in the Sun Belt Conference, just over six seconds from breaking into the top five. Additionally, the time makes her the seventh-fastest 5000-meter runner in school history.
Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Jada Branch, App State

Mountaineers’ senior jumper Jada Branch clinched first and set the facility record in the women's triple jump, as well as third in the women's long jump at the App State Open over the weekend. In the women's triple jump, she recorded a leap of 13.35m (43' 9.75" +2.5 wind) to take first and set the facility record at 13.10m (42' 11.75"). In the women's long jump, the Branch landed third with a leap of 5.96m (19' 6.75"). In the triple jump category, Branch ranks second in the Sun Belt, third in the Southeast Region, eighth in the East Prelim qualifying list, and 15th in the NCAA overall. She also ranks 14th in the Southeast Region in the women's long jump category.
