App State’s Wilson-Cook & Southern Miss’ Ross Earn Second Sun Belt Cross Country Runners of the Week Honors

NEW ORLEANS – App State’s Oliver Wilson-Cook and Southern Miss’ Isabela Ross each finished in the top ten of their respective races to claim their second Sun Belt Cross Country Runners of the Week honors of the year. 
 
Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Oliver Wilson-Cook, App State

Mountaineer’s senior Oliver Wilson-Cook helped the Mountaineers to a second-place team finish at the Covered Bridge Open on Sept. 15. Wilson-Cook was the first Mountaineer to cross the finish line, clocking an 8K time of 24:23.73 to place fifth individually for his second weekly honor of the season.
 
Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Isabela Ross, Southern Miss

Golden Eagles’ sophomore Isabela Ross stood out as the sole top-ten scorer for the Black and Gold, securing a seventh-place finish with a time of 16:52.30, which marked an impressive nine-second improvement from her previous personal best. Notably, her time also replaced the program's second-best 5K record, previously held by Ross from last season's Chile Pepper Festival (17:01.70). This is Ross’ second honor this season.
