NEW ORLEANS – Troy's Jake Springer and ULM's Anna Andrysova both took home individual medalist honors over the weekend to earn Sun Belt Golfers of the week.
Men’s Golfer of the Week
Jake Springer, Troy
(Sr., Tallahassee, Fla.)
Springer won individual medalist honors at the Everett Buick GMC Classic, shooting a 12-under 204. His 204 (73-66-65) is tied for Troy's lowest round since at least 2005-06. The senior shot a 65 in the final round, just one shot off a Troy program record. He finished the tournament with 16 birdies over the 54 holes.
Women’s Golfer of the Week
Anna Andrysova, ULM
(Jr., Prague, Czech Republic)
Andrysova won the Lady Red Wolves Classic individual title with rounds of 66-73-72 (-5) for a total card of 211. She claimed medalist honors after leading the field in par 3 scoring with a 2.92 average and totaled 12 birdies. The junior led ULM in a dominant performance to capture their first team championship of the season.
