Across three tournaments played in September, Thomas Schmidt carried a 68.22 scoring average with eight rounds under par.
Schmidt earned his fifth career win as the individual medalist at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational turning in a card 22-under par (194). The score tied the second-lowest 54-hole total relative to par in NCAA Men's Golf history. Schmidt carded an eagle, 22 birdies and 29 pars in 54 holes played. A second round 9-under par (63) was a career-best and program record.
Schmidt opened the season finishing tied for 8th after shooting 10-under par at the Whirlwind Invitational and tied for 25th at the William H. Tucker Invitational. Schmidt has helped A-State to a 36-hole total of 545 (-31) this past week which was the third-lowest in program history and the 54-hole total of 822 (-42) ranks third.
