Two Sun Belt Men's Basketball Contests Elevated to National Television Broadcasts

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference, in conjunction with ESPN, announced that two upcoming men’s basketball games have been elevated to linear broadcasts.

The Thursday, February 22 contest featuring Troy visiting Arkansas State will be played at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on ESPNU, while the Saturday, February 24 matchup between App State and Marshall will air on ESPN2 or ESPNU with a 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT tipoff from Huntington, W.Va.

The games will mark the second battle of each team’s regular season home-and-home series, as Troy (17-8, 10-2 SBC) hosts Arkansas State (11-14, 6-6 SBC) and Marshall (12-13, 7-5 SBC) visits App State (20-5, 10-2 SBC) on Thursday, February 15. Tied atop the current Sun Belt standings, Troy is currently riding a six-game winning streak, while App State has won nine of its last 10 contests.

Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball games are no stranger to the national spotlight, as multiple games have been televised on ESPN’s family of networks this season including App State’s home win over Auburn on Dec. 3, as well as the Mountaineers’ victory over James Madison on Jan. 13 and the Dukes’ triumph over Akron on Feb. 10 as part of the inaugural MAC-SBC Challenge.

As part of the Sun Belt’s comprehensive media rights partnership with ESPN, which runs through the 2030-31 academic year, the Worldwide Leader in Sports will also broadcast the championship games of the Sun Belt Men’s & Women’s Basketball Championships on Monday, March 11.
