CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL | ROUND 3 RESULTS
POINT CLEAR, Ala. – Texas State, Georgia Southern, ULM and Old Dominion advanced to match play following 54 holes of stroke play at the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Women’s Golf Championship on Wednesday afternoon at Lakewood Golf Club.
The Bobcats earned the No. 1 seed with a score of 3-under par 861 as a team and will take on No. 4 seed Old Dominion (885, +21), while Georgia Southern earned the No. 2 seed with a score of 13-over par 877 and will meet No. 3 seed ULM (879, +15) in the semifinals. Play begins at 7:30 a.m. (CT) Thursday with action airing on ESPN+.
After carding par scores in each of the tournament’s first two rounds, Texas State graduate student Hailey Jones turned in a 5-under par 67 in the final round of stroke play to earn Sun Belt individual medalist honors.
In addition to Jones, the six-player all-tournament team also included ULM freshman Daniela Campillo who placed second with a 214 (69-74-71, -2) total score, while Coastal Carolina graduate student Hannah Karg finished third with at 215 (69-76-70, -1). Honorees also included Old Dominion sophomore Lucia Gonzalez at 216 (72-73-71, E) as well as Texas State senior Junia Gabasa (73-73-72, 218) and Marshall freshman Kasey McIlvaine at 218 (71-76-71, +2), respectively.

The Lakewood Golf Club, a member of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, had its beginnings in 1944. Perry Maxwell, designer of the Tulsa Southern Hills Country Club, created Lakewood’s original Dogwood course in 1947, making it the first professional quality golf course in south Alabama. Lakewood Golf Club hosted the 1974, 1986 and 2021 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.
