NEW ORLEANS – App State’s Ethan Lipham and Southern Miss’ Maria Kaylor each finished in the top two of their respective races to claim the first pair of Sun Belt Cross Country Runners of the Week honors.
Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

Mountaineer’s junior Ethan Lipham clinched first in the men’s 6K with a personal best of 18:14.8 at the Covered Bridge Open on Aug. 30 in Boone, N.C. The Largo, Fla. native helped the Mountaineers to a first-place team finish with 18 points.
Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Maria Kaylor, Southern Miss

Golden Eagles’ graduate student Maria Kaylor made her debut at the Azalea City Classic and aided the team’s first-place victory. Clocking in at 17:27.7 for the 5,000-meter race, Kaylor secured an impressive second-place individual finish, missing first by just one second.
