NEW ORLEANS – Tessa Ion of ULM earns Sun Belt women’s golfer of the week after claiming her first individual title.

Ion claimed her first individual title at the Lady Red Wolves Classic with a total card of 207 (-9), tying the program record for a 54-hole score. After carding a 70 in the first round and a 69 in the second, Ion moved to the top of the leaderboard after a 164-yard hole-in-one on the seventh hole of the final 18. The sophomore also led the tournament with 16 birdies, claiming first place by three strokes.
