NEW ORLEANS – South Alabama’s Daniela Palmeros claims Sun Belt women’s golfer of the week honors after claiming her first individual title.

Palmeros captured her first career title at the Fifth Annual Evie Odom Invitational hosted by Old Dominion last weekend. Palermos finished four-under par to win by three strokes.
The 206 total card by Palmeros marked a new career low for the freshman, and was the second-lowest, 54-hole score in program history. Palmeros recorded five birdies in the final round to post a three-under 67, also a new career low.
On the par 70 course Palmeros tied for the lowest score on par threes with two other players as she averaged 2.89 strokes, while her 11 birdies at the tournament were also tied for most amongst the 72-player field.
