NEW ORLEANS – Yvonne Chamness of Texas State has a stellar start to the spring season, earning Sun Belt women’s golfer of the week.

Chamness began the spring with a third place finish to help lead the Bobcats to a win at the Texas State Invitational shooting 6-under par. After a first round of one over (73), she posted back-to-back rounds under par with a 69 in round two and a 68 in round three. The senior was 4-under on par 4s, while also finishing second in the tournament in total birdies with 15.
 
The Texas native then placed T8 at the Texas Golf Throwdown going even across the first two rounds and finished +5 (72-72-77). The pair of 72s have her even or under par in 13 of 18 rounds this season.
