Unbeaten Streaks Collide & Semifinal Rematch Highlights Sun Belt Women’s Soccer Weekend Slate

NEW ORLEANS – One East Division, one West Division and five cross-divisional matches spread out across three days highlight the fifth weekend of the 2025 Sun Belt Conference women’s soccer schedule which kicks off with two contests Friday evening.

HOT STREAKS IN HARRISONBURG
Unbeaten in its last five Sun Belt matches, Louisiana (5-4-4, 2-1-3 SBC) travels. To James Madison (6-3-5, 2-1-3 SBC) for a cross-division matchup Friday evening in Harrisonburg, Va. The Ragin’ Cajuns have earned two wins and three draws during the recent stretch, which includes a 1-1 draw at Texas State last Sunday (10/2), and six of their eight goals in conference play have been scored by different players. Meanwhile, the Dukes are undefeated in their last four outings which includes two wins and a pair of draws while outscoring opponents, 10-3, and nine of their 10 goals have been tallied by different players. The teams last squared off on Sept. 30, 2023 when JMU defeated Louisiana, 4-0, in Lafayette, La.

SEMIFINAL REMATCH
Texas State (7-2-4, 4-0-2 SBC) travels east to face Coastal Carolina (3-4-5, 0-1-5 SBC) on Sunday evening for a rematch of a 2024 Sun Belt Championship semifinal meeting between the programs. The Bobcats outlasted the Chanticleers, 4-0, in Foley, Ala., last November thanks to a pair of goals in each half of the contest. The Chanticleers have played to a draw in each of their last four outings, including scoreless draws against Old Dominion and ULM, followed by 1-1 ties against App State and Georgia State.

MONROE MAGIC
ULM (8-2-3, 3-0-3 SBC)) hosts App State (5-5-3, 1-2-3 SBC) on Saturday evening in Monroe, La., for a cross-divisional matchup, as the Warhawks are the only remaining Sun Belt team unbeaten at home this season with a 5-0-2 overall record. Riding the Sun Belt’s longest active unbeaten streak at nine in a row, ULM is led by two-time Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week and senior forward Skylar Blaise who leads all players in the league in total points (20) and goals (9) this season. Additionally, Blaise ranks first among all players in both of those categories in conference play with five goals and 12 points through six matches. App State enters Saturday’s battle unbeaten in its last three outings, which includes one win and two draws.

LAST OF THE UNBEATENS
Through six Sun Belt matches, just three teams remain unbeaten: Texas State, Old Dominion, and ULM. Extending beyond conference play, ULM increased its undefeated streak to nine with a 3-1 road win over Southern Miss. Old Dominion owns the second-longest active unbeaten streak at eight in a row with five wins and three draws dating back to a Sept. 4 win over then-20th-ranked Virginia Tech, followed by Texas State at six-consecutive matches.

HOME COMFORT
Texas State owns the longest active unbeaten streak at home against Sun Belt opponents at 14-consecutive matches. The Bobcats own a 9-0-5 record against league opponents in San Marcos going back to late in the 2022 season, while Old Dominion holds the second-longest streak at 12-straight with a 7-0-5 mark going back to the 2023 campaign. James Madison is next on the list, undefeated in its last nine league matches at home (8-0-1), followed by Georgia State (4-0-2) and South Alabama (5-0-1) at six in a row.
