NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern’s Laurent Julia Calac and James Madison’s Daria Munteanu each went undefeated in both singles and doubles to earn Sun Belt Conference Tennis Players of the Week honors. 

Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Laurent Julia Calac, Georgia Southern

Georgia Southern’s Laurent Julia Calac helped the Eagles to a pair of road wins in Alabama over the weekend. He won both of his singles matches in straight sets as he teamed with Aaron James Williams at No. 1 doubles to clinch the doubles point against Samford on Saturday and was leading his doubles match at UAB when the doubles point was clinched. Calac has won three singles matches in a row and nine doubles matches in a row going into this week's action.

Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Daria Munteanu, James Madison

James Madison’s Daria Munteanu went 2-0 in JMU's 4-0 victory at VCU on Saturday, March 1. Munteanu needed just one set to earn a win at No. 1 singles, defeating Tania Andrade Sabando, 6-2 retired to give JMU a 2-0 lead. She also teamed with Hope Moulin for a 6-2 victory vs. Andrade Sabando and Yelizaveta Karloff to clinch the doubles point. JMU's victory over VCU ended a 16-match skid vs. the Rams and marked its first win over VCU since 1997. It was also the first time JMU held VCU without a scoring point since 1981
