Arkansas State’s Arun Kumar & Old Dominion’s Rasskouskaia and Romanova Earn Sun Belt Women’s Tennis Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Arkansas State’s Meghna Arun Kumar and Old Dominion’s team of Lidiia Rasskouskaia and Ulyana Romanova earned Sun Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Players of the Week honors.

Arkansas State freshman Meghna Arun Kumar picked up a pair of singles victories against BYU and Memphis. Playing in the No. 6 position against BYU, Arun Kumar defeated Karina Mohamed 6-4, 6-3. She followed it up with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win over Clemence Thouard of Memphis on Sunday as the Red Wolves earned a 4-2 win over a Memphis squad that has won two of the last three American Athletic Conference Championships. It marked the program’s first win against Memphis since 2009.

Women’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week
Lidiia Rasskouskaia / Ulyana Romanova, Old Dominion

The Old Dominion doubles team of Lidiia Rasskouskaia and Ulyana Romanova went undefeated during the week on court three. The pair defeated Penn State's Patricia Grigoras and Maiko Uchijima 6-4 to start the weekend. The duo then took down Wake Forest's Sankavi Gownder and Aubrey Nisbet 6-1 as the Monarchs won the match 5-2.
