Louisiana’s Russell & Georgia Southern’s Moore Earn Sun Belt Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana’s Isabelle Russell and Georgia Southern’s Imani Moore earned recognition as the Sun Belt Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their performance last week.

Isabelle Russell, Louisiana

Louisiana’s Isabelle Russell broke her own program record in the 5000m with a time of 16:43.69 at the Carl Kight Lumberjack Invitational over the weekend, giving her the best time in the conference by nearly 4 seconds. The sophomore also ran the 800, where she set a PB at 2:16.19.

Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Imani Moore, Georgia Southern

Georgia Southern’s Imani Moore earned her second consecutive weekly honor by breaking the Georgia Southern track facility record in the long jump with a jump of 6.34m / 20'9.50", a record that was previously set nearly 20 years ago in 2006. She also competed in the triple jump, notching the second-best mark in the record books with a jump of 12.65m - breaking her previous personal record of 12.60m.
