NEW ORLEANS – Sun Belt Conference men’s golf team champion Coastal Carolina, Troy and individuals from Texas State, Louisiana, South Alabama, Arkansas State, ULM and Georgia Southern will participate in the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals, as the NCAA announced selections Wednesday afternoon.
Coastal Carolina claimed the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Golf Championship, its second since 2018 – on April 24 at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss., is the No. 12 seed in the NCAA Bremerton Regional held at Gold Mountain Golf Club.
The Chanticleers will join top-seeded Arizona State, Florida, Utah, South Carolina, South Florida, Colorado, Charlotte, Kansas, Colorado State, Kansas State, Elon, Oral Roberts and Seattle.
Troy, the Sun Belt’s highest ranked team at No. 50, punched its ticket to the Urbana Regional. They join host Illinois, Oklahoma State, North Carolina, Texas Tech, Long Beach State, UNLV, Houston, Marquette, Pacific, NC State, Illinois State and Wright State.
Seven individuals representing six schools also earned regional bids. Arkansas State’s Jack Maxey and Thomas Schmidt are joined by Parker Claxton of Georgia Southern and Louis Anceaux of ULM in the Auburn Regional.
Louisiana’s Malan Potgieter and South Alabama’s Hugo Thyr are heading to the Tallahassee Regional, while Sakke Siltala will represent Texas State in the Amherst Regional.
Regional play in the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships will take place May 12-14 at six regional sites across the country. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals (not on those teams) will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals (not on those teams). The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, to be played May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
