NEW ORLEANS – Troy’s Shanyah Washington and Georgia Southern’s Imani Moore earned recognition as the Sun Belt Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their performance last week.
Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Shanyah Washington, Troy

Troy’s Shanyah Washington excelled in the home meet with three first place finishes at the Doc Anderson Invitational. First, she docked in a 23.72 for the 200m, notching a personal best, before taking home two gold medals in the 100m - she won the individual with an 11.20 before joining the 4x100m with a 45.80.
Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Imani Moore, Georgia Southern

Georgia Southern’s Imani Moore competed in the long jump at the Florida Relays and broke the previous program record of 6.28m previously set in 2006. She jumped to a 6.36m/20-10.5 mark, finishing in second in the event. Moore's mark places her tied for eighth in the Division I outdoor qualifying rankings and first in the Sun Belt.
