NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern women’s golf advanced to its first NCAA Women’s Golf Championship after finishing in a tie for second at the NCAA Lexington Regional.
Georgia Southern is the first Sun Belt program since 2009 to make it to the NCAA Women’s Golf National Championship.
The Eagles went 288-283-283 (-10) at Keene Trace Golf Club. The 854 54-hole total is the second lowest team card of the season and second best in program history.
Georgia Southern finished behind No. 3 Florida State (-15) while tying with No. 28 Kansas State (-10). No. 9 USC (-7) and No. 22 Vanderbilt (+2) round out the top five that will move onto NCAA Championships, May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
Sophomore Louise Reau and freshman Mary Miller both finished under par for the Eagles. Reau led the way for Georgia Southern finishing four-under par and finishing in a tie for fifth place as an individual. Miller shot a collegiate best three-under par and finished seventh.
Drive Tunwannrux finished one-over par, Kelsey Chen finished seven-over par and Loralie Cowart finished 10-over to round out the team card.
The 2025 Sun Belt Champion, Southern Miss, finished 12
th in the Norman Regional shooting 43-over par as a team.
Sun Belt Individual Champion, Momoka Ando, had the best card on the team finishing four-over par tied for 26
th.
Their season comes to an end after making their first NCAA Regional in program history.
ULM’s individual, Daniela Campillo, finished 37
th shooting 11-over par at the Gold Canyon Regional. Texas State’s Yvonne Chamness finished tied for 24
th in the Lubbock Regional after going 75-78-70 (+7).
