NEW ORLEANS – South Alabama redshirt sophomore forward Andrea Iljkic and James Madison senior defender Jordan Yang garnered Sun Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week recognition following the 2025 season’s third week of action.

Iljkic earns her first Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week accolade and the first by a Jaguar since Irene Campo following week four of the 2024 campaign. Yang collects the second Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week nod of her career after receiving the honor last season on Oct. 22, 2024 following week 10 contests.

Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Andrea Iljkic, South Alabama

In a 2-0 week for the Jaguars, Iljkic registered five points on two goals and one assist while tallying five shots on goal in six total attempts. Against Middle Tennessee (8/28), Iljkic assisted on teammate Zamiyah Hill’s first collegiate goal before scoring a goal of her own in the 89th minute of a 4-0 victory. In the 81st minute of Sunday's (8/31) 3-1 home win against Southeastern Louisiana, Iljkic collected a rebound off her own deflected shot before finding the back of the net.

Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Jordan Yang, James Madison

Yang helped anchor a back line that blanked William & Mary, 4-0, on Thursday (8/28) evening for JMU's second shutout victory on the season. On Sunday (8/31) against No. 9 Penn State, Yang helped lead a defense that held the Nittany Lions to their lowest scoring output of the season and logged an assist on a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw. The tie marked the Dukes’ first against a top-10 team since 2011.
