NEW ORLEANS – South Carolina sweeps the Sun Belt Men’s Soccer weekly awards as Tyler Trimnal and Yvan Malarte earn the honors.
Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Tyler Trimnal, South Carolina

Trimnal helped South Carolina take down two of the top teams in the American Conference over the last week. The senior scored a brace in the team’s 3-2 win over FIU, helping the Gamecocks secure a comeback victory. Trimnal then scored the first goal of the match against Charlotte and had the assist on the game-winner in the Gamecocks 2-1 victory.
Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Yvan Malarte, South Carolina

Malarte played the full 90 minutes in both matches against FIU and Charlotte. He anchored a defensive unit that limited FIU to four shots on goal to help secure the win. Against Charlotte, Malarte contributed on both goals as he netted a header to score the first goal and then assist on the game-winner in the 61st minute.
