NEW ORLEANS – Old Dominion’s Piet Steveker and James Madison’s duo of Esteve Agusti and Aurelien Schmitt earned Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Players of the Week honors after undefeated weeks of play.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Piet Steveker, Old Dominion

Old Dominion junior Piet Steveker went 3-0 over the week against Saint Joseph’s, No. 70 FAU, and No. 42 Penn. The junior defeated his opponent from No. 70 FAU in straight sets on court six to start the week, before winning 6-3, 6-4 on court five against Saint Joseph’s. Steveker finished his week with another two set victory on court five 6-4, 6-4 to his opponent from No. 42 Penn for a 3-0 performance on the week.
Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week
Esteve Agusti / Aurelien Schmitt, James Madison
James Madison’s top tandem of Esteve Agusti and Aurelien Schmitt went 3-0 in doubles play on court one. They finished with the fastest win against both North Florida and Navy and clinched the doubles point with their 6-2 win at Georgia Southern. They won their match against North Florida by a 6-2 scoreline and a 6-4 finish against Navy.
