Louisiana’s Daley & Texas State’s Hayes Earn Sun Belt Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana’s Mark Daley & Texas State’s Aiden Hayes have earned recognition as the Sun Belt Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their performances over the last week. 

Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Mark Daley, Louisiana
(Sr. | Sprints | Montego Bay, Jamaica) 

Louisiana senior sprinter Mark Daley posted the fastest time in the 200 meters among SBC sprinters with a time of 20.64 seconds at the LSU Alumni Gold meet. He finished sixth overall in the event and recorded the third-best time in school history and also helped the men’s 4x100-meter relay team – along with Zakhy Munro, Christopher Gravois and Mekhi Boutte – to a third-place finish in 39.83.

Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Aiden Hayes, Texas State
(Sr. | Jumps | Richardson, Texas)

Texas State senior Aiden Hayes won the high jump with a season best and conference leading clearance of 2.24m/7-4.25. The performance moves Hayes into a tie for No. 2 in the nation and the South Central Region.
