PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – Top seeds Georgia State and South Alabama took care of business in their respective semifinals to set up a title match rematch at the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Men's Tennis Championship.
 
The second-seeded Jaguars swept No. 3 Coastal Carolina 4-0, while the top-seeded Panthers clipped No. 4 UTA 4-2. The two squads now square off in the championship final for the third-straight year. Live coverage on Sunday begins at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN+ with Matt Stewart and Ken Thomas on the call.
 
Back on the outdoor courts at the Peachtree City Tennis Center, South Alabama wasted no time in dispatching the Chanticleers. The Jaguars' No. 68 ranked duo of juniors Loic Cloes and Clement Marzol got things started with a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles. Moments later, sophomore Maxime Lapraille and freshman Louis Delcour secured the doubles point for South Alabama with a 6-2 victory at No. 3. The Jaguars kept the momentum going in singles as Delcour won at No. 6, Marzol followed at No. 3 and Cloes sealed the match at No. 2 by winning his second-set tiebreaker.
 
In the other semifinal, Georgia State and UTA embroiled in an intense battle. The Panthers opened by clinching the doubles point for the 19th time in 25 matches on a 7-5 win by sophomore Andrei Duarte and freshman Roberts Grinvalds at No. 2. Grinvalds continued his strong play in singles, picking up his first win over a ranked opponent as he defeated No. 89 Guanarteme Nuez in straight sets at No. 2.
 
UTA knotted the score at 2-2 on singles wins by senior Enrique Pardo at No. 1 and freshman Jakub Grzegorczyk at No. 6. The match was in the balance as each of the three remaining singles matches went into a third set. Georgia State closed the door on a Maverick comeback with back-to-back victories. Junior Bailey Showers' 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(1) triumph at No. 4 gave the Panthers a 3-2 advantage. Classmate Quentin Coulaud capped the match minutes later with his first clinch of the season on a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3.
