Old Dominion Men’s Tennis to Face Gardner-Webb in NCAA Tournament First Round

INDIANAPOLIS – Just over a week removed from its fourth consecutive Sun Belt Conference Tennis Championship, the Old Dominion men’s tennis team learned it will face Gardner-Webb in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Men’s Tennis Team Championship in Winston-Salem, N.C. on the campus of Wake Forest on Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m. CT.
 
The Monarchs join Gardner-Webb, Navy and hosts No. 1 overall seed Wake Forest in the Winston-Salem Regional. Following Old Dominion’s match on Friday, Wake Forest and Navy will play at 4 p.m. CT. The two winners will face on Saturday, May 2 at 4 p.m. CT at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
 
The Monarchs head to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 53 ranked team in the nation and earned their fourth straight NCAA Tournament berth with their fourth consecutive Sun Belt title. They will match up with Big South Tournament Champions Gardner-Webb, who will enter the matchup with a 17-5 overall record and a four-match win streak. The Monarchs boast a 20-6 overall record and a five-match win streak.
