ROME, Ga. – Old Dominion sophomore Adam Majchrzak has been named the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Year to highlight the annual SBC Men’s Tennis Awards and All-Conference Teams announced Wednesday. The honors were voted upon by the league’s nine men’s tennis head coaches.
After capturing the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Championship crown for a fourth consecutive year, Old Dominion finished with the most honors of any program.

Men’s Tennis Player of the Year: Adam Majchrzak, Old Dominion

Men’s Tennis Elite Award Winner: Yeray Andres Pastor, Troy
Old Dominion’s Adam Majchrzak finished with an overall record of 18-9 for the year, going 11-6 in dual matches to earn Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Year. In the fall, he made a run to the ITA Atlantic Regional Quarterfinals which made him one of two Sun Belt Singles players to earn a spot at the ITA Sectionals. In the Spring, he acquired wins over No. 37 ranked Yale and currently ranked No. 104 Ilyas Fahim from Virginia Tech. Majchrzak went 4-0 against Sun Belt opponents by scorelines of 6-2, 6-2 vs. Accossatto from South Alabama, 6-1, 6-2 vs. Norlin from Coastal Carolina, 6-2, 6-0 vs. Landreth from Louisiana, and 6-0, 6-3 vs. Melo from Troy. He was also named Sun Belt tournament All-Tournament Team in Singles on court one.

Old Dominion’s Piet Steveker is a transfer from Louisville and earned Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Newcomer of the Year. He has an overall record of 20-7 with a 15-4 showing in dual matches. In the Spring, he has earned wins over No. 31 ranked Cornell, No. 40 ranked UPenn, No. 48 ranked MTSU, No. 64 ranked Liberty and autonomous schools Virginia Tech and Utah. Steveker also went 2-0 against Sun Belt opponents with wins over Troy and Georgia Southern. In doubles, he went 18-9 overall and 15-4 in dual matches with partner Zech Hamrouni. The duo picked up wins over No. 40 ranked UPenn and Purdue with conference opponents South Alabama, Georgia Southern and Louisiana. Between Singles and Doubles he went 38-16 for the season.

Old Dominion’s Zech Hamrouni was named the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Year. He finished the year with an impressive singles record of 21-7 overall and 14-5 in dual matches with wins over No. 48 ranked MTSU, No. 49 ranked Rice, No. 53 ranked Charlotte and a 4-0 record against Sun Belt opponents, Troy, Georgia Southern, Louisiana and Coastal Carolina. He went 3-0 at the Sun Belt tournament, while securing the championship clinching point, and earned All-Tournament Team honors on court five singles. In doubles, he went 22-9 overall and 15-4 in dual matches with partner Piet Steveker which included wins over No. 40 ranked UPenn, Purdue and conference opponents South Alabama, Georgia Southern and Louisiana. Hamrouni tallied an overall 43-16 record in singles and doubles for the season.

Georgia Southern’s Gregoire Delattre was named the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Player to Watch. The true freshman was named to the All-Tournament Team this past weekend. He garnered Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week honors on March 11 and notched wins at No. 1 singles over Mercer and Chattanooga. Rotating through the top of the lineup, Delattre also tallied singles wins over JMU, Georgia State and North Alabama at No. 2 singles. Delattree also delivered doubles wins at the top spot at Stetson, at North Florida, at South Alabama and Chattanooga.

Troy’s Yeray Andres Pastor was named the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Elite Award Winner. The SBC Elite Award recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the Sun Belt Conference Championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The SBC Elite award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating on the final day for each of the Sun Belt Conference’s championships.
Old Dominion head coach Dominik Mueller led the Monarchs to their fourth consecutive Sun Belt Championship with a 20-6 record and national ranking of No. 54. During the season, Old Dominion defeated No. 40 ranked UPenn, No. 49 ranked Rice and autonomous schools Virginia Tech and Utah. The Monarchs also went 5-0 against Sun Belt opponents without dropping a singles point.
