NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana’s Sacha Grandvincent and Old Dominion’s Ulyana Romanova each rose to the occasion against ranked opponents with the clinching match points to earn Sun Belt Conference Tennis Players of the Week honors.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Sacha Grandvincent, Louisiana

Louisiana freshman Sacha Grandvincent continued to win for the Cajuns on court one doubles and court two singles. Grandvincent earned his third straight singles win on Friday in Louisiana's upset of No. 56 Charlotte, winning the clinching point in a three-set thriller. He also won his third in a row on court one doubles, handily dispatching Charlotte 6-2.
Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Ulyana Romanova, Old Dominion

Old Dominion freshman Ulyana Romanova bumped up to the No. 5 spot this week and came away with two wins against nationally ranked teams. Against No. 47 VCU, she recorded her biggest win of the year as her match was the clincher in a 4-3 ODU win. Romanova lost the first set 1-6 to Tiziana Rossini and was down 2-4 in the second before fighting back to even the match with a 7-6 (7-4) second set win. In the third and final set she jumped out to a 4-1 advantage and won 6-2 to lock up the win. At No. 33 Princeton, she got the win for the Monarchs in singles with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win over Madeline Jessup. In doubles, she and Alexandra Viktorovitch clinched the team point against Princeton with a 6-4 win at No. 2
