NEW ORLEANS – Old Dominion’s Otu Bisong and West Virginia’s Marc Bonnaire receive Sun Belt men’s soccer player of the week honors.
Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Otu Bisong, Old Dominion
(Fr. | F | Herndon, Va.)
Bisong made his first career start for the Monarchs last Friday against Coastal Carolina. The freshman netted a brace that included the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over the Chanticleers. He was one of three players across the league to have four points on the weekend and proved to be vital as Old Dominion got its first conference win of the season.
Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Marc Bonnaire
(Gr. | GK | Warrenton, Va.)
Bonnaire collected his 5th shutout of the season in West Virginia’s 2-0 win against No. 6 Georgia Southern on Friday. He made three saves in the contest, including one from point-blank range in the box to preserve an at-the-time one-goal lead.
Bonnaire’s five shutouts tie for most in the league with two of them being against ranked opponents in No. 6 Georgia Southern and No. 16 Akron.
