NEW ORLEANS -
No. 4 Marshall and No. 19 Georgia Southern face off in the first ranked matchup between league opponents this season.

MAJOR MATCHUP
No. 4 Marshall and No. 19 Georgia Southern is the first ranked matchup between Sun Belt teams this season. Marshall leads the series 3-0-0 all time with the last win coming on Oct. 23 of last year. Both teams won their conference opener last week and would both earn their first ranked wins of the season with a victory. The Eagles are on a league best six game win streak heading into the match. 

FOUR IN THE TOP 25
For the second consecutive week four Sun Belt men’s soccer teams are ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. All four sit in the top 20 with Marshall (3-0-4) at No. 4, West Virginia (5-1-2) at No. 10, Kentucky (4-0-3) at No. 18 and Georgia Southern (7-0-1) moving up to No. 19.

OFFENSIVE POWER
West Virginia has the most dominant offense in the league and the ninth ranked scoring offense in the nation. They lead in points (66), goals (21) and assists (24) as a team. They also have the league leader in points and goals as Pablo Pozos leads the league in both with eight and 17 respectively.
 
SOUTHERN STANDARD
Georgia Southern has the most wins in the league with seven, having won all but one game by a single goal. They rely heavily on goalkeeper Nate Martinez who has kept it tight between the posts. Martinez ranks 12th nationally in both goals against average (.375) and save percentage (.885).
