NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern’s Willy Mirarchi was joined by teammate Matthew Mitchell as the duo earned Sun Belt Conference Men’s Tennis Players of the Week honors after undefeated weeks of play.

Georgia Southern freshman Willy Mirarchi had an undefeated week of singles action, helping the Eagles to a pair of wins with straight-set singles victories. He earned a 6-2, 7-5 win over Dominguez of UNA as the Eagles claimed a 4-2 win over the Lions. Mirarchi also helped the Eagles earn a come-from-behind 4-3 win at Elon on Friday with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court four. His match against Old Dominion went unfinished after winning the first set 6-1.
Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week

The Georgia Southern pairing of Willy Mirarchi and Matthew Mitchell went an unbeaten 3-0 in doubles this week for the Eagles. On Friday, the duo trailed Elon's Antinheimo and Ymer 5-0 before rallying to win in a tiebreaker and clinch the doubles point for the Eagles, helping Georgia Southern claim a 4-3 win over the Phoenix. The pair then picked up a win at No. 3 doubles over No. 56 ODU's team of Moundir and Obermaier on Saturday 7-6 (3). They closed out the week by clinching the doubles point against North Alabama on Wednesday with a win as the Eagles collected a 4-2 victory over the Lions.
